3/6 Utah at New Orleans

6:00 pm MT – AT&T SportsNet/League Pass

Opponent record: 29-36

Season series: Jazz lead 1-0

The Jazz will be quite accustomed to the Pelicans by the conclusion of Wednesday as they’ll have faced them twice in the course of three days. This bout presumably will be more challenging considering that it will be a road game for the Jazz, but a similar scenario applies.

With Davis’ status being up in the air for Monday’s bout, it’s safe to say that it’s anybody’s guess whether he’ll be good to go or not for this one either. Playing on his home court where local fans are less than thrilled to have him wanting out has to be uncomfortable, so don’t be surprised if Davis’ ‘illness’ lingers another couple days.

In fairness to the Pelicans, they’ve been a pretty good team at home with a record of 18-12 as compared to 11-24 on the road, so Utah can’t be caught unaware. Still, against a team in shambles dealing with an uncertain future regarding their current star and uncertain circumstances with the direction of the franchise, the Jazz should be able to come out on top once again.

Although Pelicans role players such as Jahlil Okafor and Frank Jackson have been solid of late, I don’t believe this team has the depth or talent to topple a streaking Jazz team despite playing on their home court.

My Prediction: Jazz Win

Final Score: Utah 109, New Orleans 97
