NBA TV and TNT’s Kristen Ledlow may have very well found her new favorite team as the Utah Jazz Twitter account advocated for her to have a role in Space Jam 2.

In case you somehow missed it, it was recently made official that a Space Jam 2 is forthcoming, set to be released on July 16, 2021. It will be starring LeBron James and of course a host of all of our favorite members of the Tune Squad including Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Lola Bunny and the rest of the gang.

Along those lines, it’s been a long-running joke on Twitter that NBA TV and TNT’s Kristen Ledlow is deserving of a role in the film. She’s expressed her love for Space Jam numerous times and has even made it clear herself that she’d like a spot in the movie.

Playing along with said joke, the official Utah Jazz Twitter account was quick to give its take on the announcement of the upcoming sequel by tweeting the following–

I have to agree with the Jazz social media crew here. Kristen Ledlow is one of the best in the business at what she does. She’s an intriguing and knowledgeable analyst with a great TV personality and a strong understanding of the game. As an awesome addition to the NBA game experience and as a huge fan of the Space Jam series, she definitely would be a fitting part of the new movie and deserves such a role.

And apparently Kristen is a big fan of the Utah Jazz’s endorsement for her part in the film as she was quick to respond on Twitter herself with the following–

Though this statement may have been made somewhat facetiously due to being caught up in the excitement of imagining herself in Space Jam 2, let’s go ahead and just assume it’s genuine and that the Jazz now find themselves at the top of Ledlow’s list. As such, I think I speak for all of Jazz Nation when I extend her a warm welcome into the Jazz family! The Jazz play on TNT this upcoming Thursday, and perhaps we’ll get Kristen on the call for her ‘new favorite team.’

Of course, expect her to remain professional about her favoritism and not show it on national TV, but we all now know where her allegiance lies.

All jokes aside, it’s always great to see the Utah Jazz getting a little extra love from prominent figures related to the NBA. And for what it’s worth, whether Kristen Ledlow’s statement of preferring the Jazz over every other team holds true or not, I certainly hope she gets a role in the upcoming film. It would undoubtedly be well-deserved.

Not only would it be great to see her in the movie, but it will be interesting to see if any Jazz players get to make an appearance as well. Rudy Gobert could be a fun Monstar character a la Shawn Bradley from the first movie and Donovan Mitchell has the perfect made-for-TV personality. We saw both of their acting prowess in recent Vivint Smart Home commercials and seeing that on the big screen would be an even greater thrill.

I wouldn’t hold my breath, but it would still be pretty dang cool to witness if either found themselves in the upcoming movie.
