Kerwin Roach II

I just have to include Kerwin Roach II here because I love the guy as a prospect. He’s a definite 2nd round pick as of right now, but that shouldn’t stop the Jazz from looking at him.

Roach is an extremely athletic point guard who plays for Texas. He’s a Senior, and will be 23 years old by the time next season starts. That won’t stop Utah from taking him – they took Grayson Allen 21st overall in 2018 and he was also a four-year player.

At six-foot-four, Roach has great size for his position and can play off the ball. His shot has improved over his years at Texas, as he’s shooting nearly 35 percent from deep on nearly six attempts per game.

The athletic ability from Roach needs to be mentioned again – he’s even gotten some comparisons to Russell Westbrook. They’re not realistic comparisons, but it just shows how explosive Roach is. His vertical leap is insane and he was also a track and field star in high school. He comes from an athletic family, too. His dad played college ball at Texas Southern University and his brother is a quarterback at Texas State University. I will probably have Roach a lot higher on my mock drafts compared to the national media.

So, those are four point guards I think the Jazz should take a look at if they’re targeting that position going into the 2019 NBA Draft. There’s plenty of other options, too, so I’ll give a few honorable mentions. Coby White of North Carolina, Carsen Edwards of Purdue, Ky Bowman of Boston College and Darius Garland, who is currently preparing for the draft. Stay tuned for a similar article detailing potential options at power forward for the Jazz.
