There’s not a lot for Utah Jazz fans to look forward to during All-Star Weekend, so let’s imagine what their ideal slate could look like.
Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell put up a nice performance in the Rising Stars Challenge on the first night of 2019 NBA All-Star Weekend, and it will be fun listening to him participate in the Slam Dunk Contest broadcast. However, beyond that there isn’t a whole lot for Jazz fans to really look forward to in this season’s All-Star festivities.
Despite boasting the sixth best record in the Western Conference and having two straight second-round playoff appearances, the Jazz still feel very much under-represented at this weekend’s big events with no All-Stars and no contestants in Saturday’s fun All-Star events.
In some ways, this comes as little surprise. The Jazz have long been overlooked and underappreciated in terms of the recognition and respect they get from a national audience and their lack of representation is pretty much par for the course for the small market squad.
Therefore, I thought it would be entertaining to imagine what an ideal All-Star Weekend would have looked like for Utah Jazz fans this year if they could have had players featured throughout all the events. Though they’ll likely never have this much representation in the All-Star festivities, here’s what the dream scenario could have looked like for Jazz fans if all the chips fell into place.
