Montrezl Harrell LA Clippers

Montrezl Harrell

OK, so this one is a bit of a reach, but how about we dream it into existence?! Who’s with me?!

Montrezl Harrell is likely a tough get; he’s in the midst of a breakout season from the LA Clippers (averaging 16 points and seven boards per game) and is on what is arguably the best contract in the NBA, which will pay him just $6 million this season and the same amount in 2019-20.

But with the Clippers suddenly becoming a potential landing spot for Anthony Davis — unlikely though it may be — some shuffling is going to have to happen if they’re to beat out the Lakers and the rest of the league. So, let’s get Harrell shuffled our way.

Like O’Quinn, he’s a high-energy player with top-shelf athleticism, incredible length (he boasts a 7-foot-4 wingspan) and while he’s smallish at 6-foot-8 and 240, he’s managed to up his rebound rate every year he’s been in the league.

Offensively, he has a career effective field goal percentage of 64 and he’s managed to be more positive for the Clips this season (2.1 net rating) than Tobias Harris and Danilo Gallinari (0.6 and minus-0.2, respectively).

Harrell also has the Louisville connection with Donovan Mitchell. It just makes too much sense for him to come to Utah!

What’s that? Won’t happen, you say? OK — next.
