Utah Jazz: 25 years of the best (and worst) trade deadline deals

9) Alan Henderson is acquired (momentarily) from the Philadelphia 76ers; February 22, 2007
The Jazz acquire Alan Henderson from the Sixers for cash considerations and the right to exchange future second-round picks.
There’s not much to report here. Henderson was eventually waived by the Jazz without ever having taken the floor for the team. The 6-foot-9 big would later re-sign with the 76ers and didn’t play in the league again following the ’07 season.
In terms of positives for this deal, though, one could point to how the team absorbed a contract to gain assets. It’s a trade strategy that was used to great effect in ensuing years by then-GM Kevin O’Connor and, later, Lindsey.
