Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert had the perfect rebuttal to Draymond Green’s idiotic tweet in Friday’s post-game interview.

Thursday night marked a sad evening for Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert as he was once again left off the All-Star roster, much to the dismay of his team, his fans and of course himself. The cases for Gobert being worthy of an All-Star bid are endless and several key figures from radio voice of the Jazz David Locke, to head coach of the Atlanta Hawks Lloyd Pierce, to media members galore acknowledged as much.

The following day leading up to the contest against the Atlanta Hawks, when Gobert was asked about being left off the All-Star roster, he brought up a tender conversation he had with his mother on the matter and how disappointed she was at the news. After all his hard work, she above anyone surely wanted to see him make the team.

While chatting about her and his feelings on missing the game, emotion caught up to Gobert, who obviously cares so greatly and deeply about his family and his craft, and he ended the interview in tears.

In case you missed it, I’ve included the footage below–

While any normal person can understand how reflecting on hard work and sacrifices of self and family as well as falling short of a monumental achievement could lead one to feel a significant amount of emotion, highly reputed class act Draymond Green (I kid, of course) apparently can’t quite wrap his mind around that. He responded to the Gobert incident with a tweet as childish and asinine as his typical play on the court–

He was joined in the foolish and misinformed jokes by his teammate Andre Iguodala, and Denver Nuggets point guard Isaiah Thomas, among others–

I could go on and on about the ridiculousness of this kind of shaming and trolling, as well as the irony of Green, who is known for crying in the parking lot while attempting to recruit Kevin Durant, making this joke, but I’ll spare you the rant. Instead, let’s focus on Rudy Gobert’s hilarious clap-back to the Draymond tweet.

After a dominant performance against the Atlanta Hawks on Friday in which Gobert dropped 25 points on 7-of-7 shooting while grabbing 13 rebounds and logging a pair of blocks, he was in much higher spirits than he had been earlier that day. When asked about Draymond’s tweet, not only did Rudy essentially shrug it off, but he also had the perfect response – “As long as he doesn’t post anything on Snapchat, we’re good.”

For those of you who aren’t up to speed on the joke, back in the summer of 2016, Draymond Green made headlines for accidentally posting an NSFW picture of – for lack of a better term – his man parts on his public Snapchat story. To dismiss Draymond’s idiotic tweet in such a way with such a succinct and pointed rebuttal was perfectly done on Rudy’s part.

Gobert also liked a tweet on Twitter suggesting that Green’s comment was hypocritical due to the tears he shed in the aforementioned KD recruiting incident–

Between each of these occurrences, I think it’s fair to say that we’re going to see some extra bad blood between the Utah Jazz and Golden State Warriors the next time they square off. Fortunately, we won’t have to wait long, as the two teams collide at Oracle Arena on February 12th in Utah’s final game before the All-Star break.

Next. Utah Jazz look to surpass Houston Rockets in standings. dark

Make no mistake about it, that game is bound to be pure entertainment television.
