One day after the Utah Jazz officially re-acquired him in a trade for Alec Burks, Kyle Korver is in Charlotte and ready to play against the Hornets.

The Utah Jazz’s big move to acquire Kyle Korver in exchange for Alec Burks became official on Thursday, with both players having undergone required physical examinations with their new teams.

The deal was completed just in time for Korver to join the Jazz in Charlotte, where they’re set to take on Kemba Walker and the Hornets on Friday night. He was at Utah’s gameday shootaround and will reportedly be available to play when the game tips off at 5 PM MT.

So, what can Jazz fans reasonably expect from Korver on quick turnaround?

For starters, he won’t play a lot of minutes. In fact, even once he gets up to speed with the team’s rhythm and schemes, he’s not going to be a player you’re relying heavily on at age 37. In 16 games with the Cavs this season, he averaged just under 16 minutes per contest.

I would expect him to eventually settle in with the Jazz in that 15-20 MPG zone as well.

Against Charlotte, look for Coach Quin Snyder to use Korver in small doses, during which the offense will be simplified for him. Mostly, his job will be to get open and fire away when the ball hits him as he familiarizes himself with the system.

It’s a role that should suit Korver just fine. On the year, he’s hitting 46 percent of his triples on just over three attempts per game. I would anticipate that his rate of fire goes up with the Jazz, even without increased minutes. He may get three attempts up in his Jazz return despite the fact that it will be an abbreviated run.

Really, it’s a role that won’t change much once he’s fully acclimated.

During his last stint with the Jazz, Korver set the NBA’s all-time, single-season mark for 3-point accuracy, knocking down over 53 percent of his triples during the 2009-10 campaign. For his career, he’s a 43 percent shooter from distance, which is sixth-best in league history.

dark. Next. Utah Jazz grades: SGs Donovan Mitchell, Grayson Allen

For a Jazz squad that ranks 28th in the league in 3-point shooting at 31.9 percent, he’ll be a difference-maker. Even in a limited capacity.
