The Utah Jazz shipped off Alec Burks and a pair of second-round picks for Kyle Korver. Was it the right move for a team that’s struggled so far this season?
Utah Jazz fans have been somewhat disgruntled to start out the season due to the team’s lackluster play and the seeming failure of the plan to rely on continuity to spur the squad on to new heights. As such, many were calling for the Jazz to make a move. However, I’m not sure anybody saw a change coming this quickly, yet here we are.
It was announced on Wednesday, initially by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowksi, that the Utah Jazz traded Alec Burks and a pair of second round picks to the Cleveland Cavaliers in exchange for former Jazzman Kyle Korver. Korver played for the Jazz from the 2007-08 season through the 2009-10 season, so this will be a homecoming of sorts for him.
Some Jazz fans were elated by the news and stoked to welcome the former fan favorite back home. Others were disappointed at the idea of shipping Burks out for a player that’s definitely past his prime. So where does this deal land for the Jazz? Let’s break it down and take a look at both good and bad.
