It may be a ways off until the offseason, but there are still several tantalizing free agent targets that the Utah Jazz ought to be keeping tabs on.

The 2018-19 NBA season is barely a month old. At this point, it’s impossible to determine how the final standings will turn out or which teams will ultimately be the best in the league. While there’s been a couple trades already this season, most teams aren’t aiming for a major shakeup just yet (except maybe the Washington Wizards). And rather than get too consumed on the future, the majority of squads are focused on the here and now.

But us fans are impatient, aren’t we? And even though we complain all offseason long about how much we miss basketball, it still seems that it’s never too early to dream about offseason moves. As such, especially considering that the Utah Jazz have gotten off to a less than riveting start that has their fans wishing they had a couple more prolific pieces to rouse their defense and spark their offense, I’ve decided to take a far-too-early look at some impending free agents that might be nice fits down the road.

Now, there’s a good chance that many of these players won’t give Utah a second glance as they aim to either stick it out with their current teams or head to a bigger market. Nevertheless, each one at least has some semblance of a chance of considering joining the Jazz be it due to fit, opportunity or an improved situation.

And let’s be honest, the Jazz are certainly more appealing than their reputation has been in years past. With rock solid ownership, a brilliant general manager, a well-respected head coach, two franchise cornerstones in Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert, and an image that has changed thanks to high praise from the likes of Joe Johnson, Boris Diaw and Jae Crowder, players might actually be willing to give the Jazz a chance.

With such being the case, let’s take a quick perusal at some exciting unrestricted free agents that most certainly should be high on Jazz fan wish lists for next summer.
