Utah Jazz Week Six Outlook: Can Utah turn the corner?
11/25 Utah at Sacramento
6:00 pm MT – AT&T SportsNet/League Pass
Opponent record: 8-8
Season series: Jazz lead 1-0
To finish up the week, the Jazz will once again face the Sacramento Kings next Sunday, this time within the Golden 1 Center. As previously stated, while the Kings have some young talent, I just don’t see them being able to outmatch the Jazz.
Not only that, but this time around it will be the second night of a back-to-back for the Kings who play the Golden State Warriors the night before at Oracle Arena. Sure, the Jazz may be tired from so much travel, but at least they don’t have a single back-to-back this week. With that being the case, I think the Jazz will take advantage of Sacramento’s tired legs and lack of depth to defeat them for the second time on the week and the third time on the season.
My Prediction: Jazz Win
Final Score: Utah 107, Sacramento 98
So I’ve got the Jazz going 3-1 on the week, but with a couple of predictions that I’m feeling less than comfortable with. Against Indiana, if Victor Oladipo indeed plays, it could change the dynamic entirely. Against LA, I want to pick the Jazz, but it feels overly optimistic to pin them going 4-0 in the week when they’ve been so inconsistent overall this season.
Still, I could definitely see them doing just that, but I could also just as easily see them faltering to 2-2, and hopefully not worse. Then again, none of us saw that horrific loss in Dallas coming, so it’s anybody’s guess what will come to pass.
I merely hope that the Jazz can find a way to come out of Week Six above .500 and show signs that they truly are on the cusp of turning the corner and re-establishing a new tone for the remainder of the 2018-19 season.
