In order for the Utah Jazz to wrap up preseason play with a win in Sacramento and a perfect record, there’s several aspects that they’ll need to clean up on Thursday night.
Although it’s been far from pretty, the Utah Jazz are a perfect 4-0 in preseason play thus far with just one final audition game remaining on Thursday evening. After narrowly escaping the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday, the Jazz will wrap things up on the road against the Sacramento Kings. Ironically, Utah will also tip off the regular season back in Sacramento on October 17th.
Hopefully on both occasions, they’ll have cleaned things up significantly from their bout against Portland. The Jazz were only able to win thanks to exceptional play late in the game from their bench. However, before that, Portland’s regular rotation absolutely outplayed Utah’s regular rotation.
Therefore, while finishing perfect in preseason by toppling the Kings will be a nice perk to take some confidence into the regular season, even more importantly, it will be vital to see the Jazz fix some issues from previous games. If they can do so, it will be a nice step in the right direction before games finally start to count for something.
As such, the following are three keys the Jazz need to do well to not only win on Thursday night and finish 5-0 in preseason play, but also to reverse prior trends and get back on the right track to conclude the preseason slate.
