Yes, preseason games do not count towards an NBA teams’ record. They really don’t mean anything, except for developing some team chemistry and getting a look at the younger players. Heck, some people are open to the idea of eliminating the preseason in general.
I, for one, enjoy it. I like the shortened schedule, for sure, but still find it fun to watch. Some teams are playing just four preseason games, but most are playing five. I think four is the perfect amount of games. It’s always a shame to see someone get injured during the preseason, so I understand why some people aren’t fond of it. A good example is when Blake Griffin broke his kneecap during the 2009 preseason and missed his entire original rookie season.
Including a 5-0 record so far this year, it’s been a while since the Utah Jazz lost a preseason game. Their last loss occurred back in 2016. They took an L courtesy of the Portland Trail Blazers. The Jazz played six preseason games that year, winning three and losing three.
Anyway, let’s get into the point of this article. What was going on in the NBA world – and the real world, for that matter – the last time that the Utah Jazz lost a preseason game.
