10/11 Utah at Sacramento

8:00 pm MT – AT&T SportsNet/League Pass

The final preseason game will mark less than one week remaining until the start of the regular season. Ironically enough, on October 17th, the Jazz will turn right around and head back to Sacramento to take on the Kings yet again.

The Kings have had it rough the last few years as they haven’t even come close to sniffing the playoffs. Unfortunately, I think such will be the same this year, but at least now, for the first time in quite a while, I can say that I feel like the Kings are on a good track.

With a slew of young, exciting players such as Bogdan Bogdanovic, De’Aaron Fox and recently drafted Marvin Bagley III as well as talented newcomers such as Yogi Ferrell and Nemanja Bjelica, the Kings could be an entertaining and competitive squad this year. Expect that competitiveness to be in full force with the Jazz in town on October 11th. The Kings will bring their A-game and look to put up a strong performance in their final audition before the start of regular season action.

However, with so much youth and inexperience throughout their roster, this should be one that the Jazz win with relative ease. The Kings will certainly be tougher than Perth or Adelaide, but given the continuity and depth the Jazz will be playing with, I have a hard time seeing them being outmatched by Sacramento.

My Prediction: Jazz Win

Final Score: Utah 102, Sacramento 87

So to start off the year, I have the Jazz going a strong 4-1 in preseason play, with the lone loss coming at the hands of the Portland Trail Blazers. Whatever comes of preseason, which by and large is hardly indicative of regular season success, it will be an absolute joy to see the Jazz back on the court in competitive 5-on-5 action.

The regular season is nearly upon us, and these five Utah Jazz preseason games will be an excellent way to get both the players and fans primed for the 82-game campaign ahead.
