Pistons wing Reggie Bullock could (and should) emerge as an option for the Utah Jazz once 2019 free agency arrives next summer.

I know, the 2018-19 season hasn’t even started yet. It’s still so early to be even thinking about the Utah Jazz’s next foray into free agency, but I can’t help myself. Being the basketball junkie I am, my mind just constantly thinks about all things basketball.

When it comes to next year’s free agency, Khris Middleton and Tobias Harris are two names that have been thrown around quite a lot by Jazz fans. Both players would be significant additions and great fits for the Jazz. However, there’s another player that would fit perfectly with the Jazz and he would likely cost a lot less. His name is Reggie Bullock.

Bullock will be an unrestricted free agent in 2019, and with the improvement he has shown on the court, he will have plenty of suitors. He doesn’t get talked about very much, but he gets the job done on both ends of the floor.

The Jazz could definitely use another guy that can create offense for himself and others, and while Bullock isn’t that type of player, he still does a lot of things well. He’s an elite 3-point shooter and a very good defender.

There’s a lot to like with Bullock. He fits the mold of the 3-and-D player perfectly, and in today’s NBA, you want as many of those types of players as you can possibly get. He also has good size at 6-foot-7, he can play multiple positions, he moves well without the ball and he’s only 27 years old.

Plus, I think he would thrive in Quin Snyder’s system. He’s entering the prime of his career, and we all know how Snyder gets the most out of his players. He’d compliment Donovan Mitchell well, and could generate some open looks off of penetration.

It may be tough for the Pistons to keep Bullock past this season due to the financial concerns the team has. They have so much money invested into the core of the team; Bullock could be the odd man out in Detroit, which would be a big loss for them.

Again, I know it’s so early to be thinking about free agency, but I think Bullock is a guy that Jazz fans should keep an eye on this season.

2019 free agency is going to be fun.
