It can’t hold a candle to the regular season, but there’s plenty to be excited about in the Utah Jazz’s five-game preseason slate.

We all know that the NBA preseason isn’t nearly as exciting as the real deal. Nevertheless, it’s still a nice taste and a decent preview for what lies ahead in the upcoming season.

The Utah Jazz will play in five preseason games this upcoming Fall, beginning on September 29th when they host the Perth Wildcats out of Australia. From there, they’ll host the Toronto Raptors on October 2nd and the Adelaide 36ers out of Australia on October 5th before wrapping up the preseason slate on the road. Away from home, they’ll battle the Portland Trail Blazers on October 7th and the Sacramento Kings on October 11th.

Ironically, the Jazz will get a double dose of the Kings, as they’ll also tip off the regular season in Sacramento on October 17th.

And while these largely meaningless games that probably won’t even see much of the teams’ starting lineups may not feel that exhilarating, there are still some legitimate reasons to be excited about the upcoming slate of games.

In case you were wondering why, don’t you worry – I’m here to tell you just that.
