Grayson Allen was a somewhat controversial pick for the Utah Jazz, but a few things about his game make him stand out as an excellent addition.
To say that the Utah Jazz‘s 2018 first-round draft pick was a polarizing selection would be a wild understatement. Often heralded as a dirty player, a poor sport and several other less appropriate things that I won’t mention here, Grayson Allen was definitely a controversial player coming into the NBA. Now that he plays for one of the most pesky defensive teams in the league, that reputation is certain only to grow.
Yet while some Jazz fans may still be on the fence about him, there’s actually a lot to like about the pick, especially on paper. Trust me, I’m still leery about the Allen selection as well and have my fingers crossed that his questionable attitude from his college days won’t translate over to the NBA. However, I also recognize that, reputation aside, he does have some traits that would make him a nice fit with this Jazz team.
With that in mind, here are three stats from Grayson’s college career at Duke that could very well inject some excitement and revamped confidence into the Utah faithful, particularly for those still hesitant about whether he was the optimal choice for the Jazz or not.
