The NBA released an awesome video for Utah Jazz fans featuring Donovan Mitchell reacting to his best dunks from the 2017-18 season.

Donovan Mitchell built a name for himself in a lot of ways last season. Not only in his spectacular play that helped lead the Utah Jazz to the second round of the NBA Playoffs, but also with his awesome deeds off the court that just continue mounting up.

But another way in which Mitchell surged onto the scene was by winning the NBA Dunk Contest and by throwing down vicious highlight dunks all season long. Between those two things, it didn’t take him long to build a reputation as one of the league’s most prolific dunkers, and his sweet jams most certainly deserve revisiting time after time after time.

In fact, in a recent video from the NBA, Mitchell sat down and actually did that revisiting himself. He looked back at ten of his most exhilarating dunks from the 2017-18 season and gave his thoughts on them.

You can check it out yourself below–

I remember all of these dunks quite well, but Donovan’s commentary on them adds an awesome new angle. I especially liked how he noticed that Josh Hart (a good friend of Mitchell’s) momentarily forgot that his buddy played for the opposing team as he began to stand up after Donovan’s dunk. I also liked the detail of how his big jam against the Cavs was actually over now teammate Jae Crowder.

Of all the awesome dunks that Mitchell unleashed last season, the one that he selected as standing out the most to him was the one against the Houston Rockets in the second round of the playoffs that helped the Jazz earn a huge Game 2 victory. It was a stellar dunk that saw him grab his own miss and then flush it home with authority.

The funny detail that I didn’t know but quite enjoyed hearing him describe was the fact that after pulling off the dunk, he wanted to scream but kind of became unsure what to do, so instead he just put on a serious mug. Doing so produced one of the best images of the 2018 NBA Playoffs, especially if you’re a Utah Jazz fan:

Mitchell’s in-game dunks were just one of many exhilarating facets of his game last season. But I’m confident that what we saw in 2017-18 was just the tip of the iceberg of mind-blowing highlights that we’ll witness out of Donovan next season and moving forward in his career.

Especially based on the amount of work he’s putting in this offseason, I think it’s safe to say – the best is yet to come.
