Detroit Pistons

  • ’17-18 Record: 39-43
  • ’17-18 Season Series: 2-0 (Jazz)
  • ’18-19 Advantage: Jazz

The Detroit Pistons are looking like a playoff team in the Eastern Conference. They have an elite front-court in Blake Griffin and Andre Drummond. Plus, they added the Coach of the Year, Dwane Casey.

Utah has enjoyed some success against the Pistons over the past couple of seasons, going 4-0 against them over the past two years. Utah got a huge overtime win in Detroit this past season which catapulted their season and sparked a massive turnaround.

Detroit’s guards are going to have a hard time guarding Utah’s guards. Ricky Rubio, Donovan Mitchell and Dante Exum all have a deadly first step and that drive to the basket opens up shooters when the defense collapses.

While the Jazz have the advantage in the guard and wing department, Detroit may have the advantage up front. Like I said, Drummond and Griffin are both stars and are going to wear out opposing front lines.
