Kelly Oubre Jr. – Washington Wizards

Do you like long, athletic wings who can shoot? Of course you do. Who doesn’t?!

On paper, Kelly Oubre Jr. appears to be the prototypical wing in today’s NBA. He is 6’7″ and has a near 7’2″ wingspan. He is a terrific athlete and carries himself with extremely smooth and fluid movements. If the Jazz are ready to move on from Alec Burks and Thabo Sefolosha next season, Oubre would appear to be an excellent fit.

At just 22 years of age, Oubre had a career year with the Washington Wizards last season. He averaged close to 12 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.0 steal per game, and also shot 34 percent from three point range.

I’ll be the first to admit that Oubre definitely has his issues. He seemed to have a bit of an attitude when watching him play with the Washington Wizards last season, and his focus and intensity certainly comes and goes. That being said, I don’t think the Wizards are the most stable franchise in the league, and they haven’t developed Oubre as well as a team like the Jazz could.

If he were to join the Jazz while still at just 23 years of age, I believe the Jazz could turn him into a starter level wing in the NBA.
