In October, rookie Grayson Allen will officially make his debut for the Utah Jazz. He sported some of Utah’s official uniforms for the first time on Sunday.
Given his status as an older prospect and a late first-round pick, fans probably aren’t expecting Utah Jazz rookie Grayson Allen to follow in the footsteps of first-year star Donovan Mitchell. Still, Allen’s grit on the hardwood, sneaky athleticism and outside shooting ability have definitely combined to give Jazz Nation high hopes for his future.
Whether or not he makes good on those hopes remains to be seen. However, Jazz fans can be sure of at least one thing — he’ll look good while he’s out balling.
Allen and the rest of the NBA’s incoming rookie class were together in Tarrytown, New York over the weekend. The reason: the 2018 NBA Rookie Photo Shoot; a first-look at some of the top picks in their element.
Every summer, the Association’s latest rookie crop descends upon the Madison Square Garden Training Facility in Tarrytown to get snapped in their pro teams’ duds. While there, they’ve traditionally taken part in the league’s annual rookie survey as well.
At this year’s shoot, Allen jumped into Utah’s gold Statement Edition jersey, as well as the team’s blue Icon Edition uniform.
Here’s Allen rocking the latter —
Like I said, Jazz looks good on the former Duke Blue Devil.
Speaking of, here’s a shot of Allen with his college teammates Marvin Bagley, Gary Trent Jr. and Wendell Carter —
Allen is wearing the gold jersey in that one which, for my money, is still the best kit the Jazz have.
For fans who live for kicks, the No. 21 overall pick was sporting Nike React Hyperdunks for the photo shoot.
If you’re into trading cards, Panini has once again released first-look rookie cards to commemorate the shoot. You can pick up Allen’s 2018-19 Panini Instant NBA RPS First Look card for a 10-spot right HERE.
