January 11, 2019: Los Angeles Lakers vs. Utah Jazz

It is going to be a very strange sight seeing The King in Los Angeles Laker purple and gold, but Jazz fans will get their first in-person look at just that at home on January 11th.

For the past two seasons it was largely expected that LeBron James would make the move out to the West Coast to play for the Lakers. So while it wasn’t necessarily a shocking move to many, it still sent ripples through the NBA.

For his entire 15-year career, James has been playing in the Eastern Conference, which means we were only seeing him once in Salt Lake City. That said, James has not emerged victorious in Utah in eight years. So the fact that the Jazz will now be playing him twice a season at home (four times in all this year) should excite Jazz fans. If they end up matching up against each other in the playoffs (which is what the Vegas odds are predicting), then the Jazz could potentially go 6-0 against James in SLC this upcoming season.

Personally, I have always been a huge LeBron James fan. I am Team LeBron in the “Who is the greatest player of all-time” argument. So knowing that the Jazz will get to play at least three games against the Lakers and James each season is very exciting to me.

Whether or not you think James is the greatest player of all-time, he is certainly up there, and we should all appreciate his greatness. As Jazz fans, we now have the chance to see him up close and personal for the last few years of his career.

Take advantage.
