Jae Crowder will be in the Sixth Man of the Year conversation

Jae Crowder was an excellent spark plug for the Utah Jazz after coming over in a trade with the Cleveland Cavaliers and his positive impact on the team went well beyond the traditional box score. Still, there were parts of his game that definitely need improvement in order for him to be as effective as the Jazz would like him, such as his shot selection and shooting efficiency.

But if he can put that all together, then my bold prediction for Jae Crowder is that he will find himself in the Sixth Man of the Year conversation this upcoming season. Pinning him to win the award is a little too bold, in my opinion, but being in the running is certainly within reach.

The Rubio-Mitchell-Ingles-Crowder-Gobert lineup was one of the most deadly in the NBA, and Crowder’s defense and switchability was a big part of that. If he can get his scoring and shooting up to where it was during his Boston glory years while having that kind of impact, then becoming a Sixth Man candidate is entirely reasonable.
