If you ask me, Tony Bradley quietly had the best Summer League on the Jazz roster – emphasis on quiet. There were multiple games in Utah where I was shocked to look up and see he was nearing a double-double.
Bradley played an all-around game on offense and defense while in Utah, averaging nearly 15 points per game, while adding an impressive 12.3 rebounds and two blocks per game. He was noticeably bigger and stronger than he was as a rookie last season (literally bigger), and his hands were much better around the basket.
Bradley’s best game in Utah came against the fourth overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, Jaren Jackson Jr. Tony put up 18 points and 14 rebounds, and helped the Jazz nearly come back from a 26-point deficit in the second half.
Bradley showed some early concerns while playing in Utah. Namely, his ability to finish around the basket. He missed multiple bunny shots, putbacks and layups.
As the Jazz travelled to Vegas, though, Bradley began to look much more comfortable on the offensive end, and was near perfect as he helped lead the Jazz in a 90-85 victory over the New York Knicks. Bradley finished the game with 16 points on 7-of-8 shooting, and 2-of-2 from the free throw line.
Bradley still has a long way to go in his development, but he showed good signs of progression and looks to be an important piece to the future for the Jazz.
For this Summer League though, he was not the best player on the Jazz roster. That honor goes to the most recent Jazz signee.
