Retaining Thabo Sefolosha

Although he was hindered last year due to injury, there’s simply no questioning the impact that Thabo Sefolosha had on this team both on the court when healthy and all year as a savvy veteran presence. He filled a mentor role throughout the 2017-18 campaign and clearly won the respect of his teammates.

He also had one of the most efficient seasons of his career and fit seamlessly into the style and culture of the Utah Jazz while maintaining his superb perimeter defense. Factor in that he’s set to make just barely over $5 million this next year and it became a no-brainer for the Jazz to guarantee the second year of his contract and keep Thabo on board.

Considering all he added on and off the court last year and that he figures to continue to add that value at such a good rate, Utah made the easy decision on this one and got the easy high grade as a result.
