Georges Niang – Earn an official roster spot

Georges Niang isn’t officially on the team just yet, but that makes his goal all the more fitting. After dominating in the G-League for the Salt Lake City Stars last season while playing on a two-way contract, Niang has continued to light it up in Summer League. Considering that the waiving of Jonas Jerebko will open up a roster spot for the Jazz, there appears to be an excellent opportunity for the young forward to fill his spot.

Niang will be hard-pressed to find minutes, but his exceptional play of late has proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that he belongs in the NBA. As such, his goal for the upcoming season should be to secure an official roster spot. He’s outgrown the mere competition of the G-League and two-way contract players, and it’s time for him to finally receive the roster spot and contract to prove as much.

Next: Even in the offseason, Utah Jazz chemistry is unmatched

The 2018-19 season is bound to be an exhilarating one as the improvement of the Utah Jazz team as a whole depends on each of its parts taking individual leaps forward. As each Jazzman aims to achieve their personal goal identified here, we could very well have a top-3 team in the West on our hands in Salt Lake City next season.
