Rudy Gay
Rudy Gay is another guy that was probably never too high on Utah’s list. However, after he opted out of his contract with the San Antonio Spurs, some thought he could be a nice player to fill Joe Johnson‘s former role as a savvy vet that could play some stretch-four.
Instead, he’ll simply be returning to the San Antonio Spurs on a slightly higher-paying one-year deal of $10 million. Not a bad get for the vet who apparently enjoyed his time with head coach Gregg Popovich and Co.
Free agent forward Rudy Gay has committed on a one-year, $10 million deal to re-sign with the San Antonio Spurs, league sources tell Yahoo.

Next: Utah Jazz: Predicting the final landing spot for Jazz free agents
As free agency continues, there are bound to be other Jazz targets and potential fits who are plucked away by opposing teams. However, Utah is clearly being methodical and strategic in their free agency approach, beginning with prioritizing meetings with both Derrick Favors and Dante Exum.
Be sure to stay tuned to TheJNotes.com for updates on those two as well as any other free agents that the Jazz manage to lure into Salt Lake City.
