Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert stifled opposing offenses and protected the rim all season long. The result? Some well-deserved hardware.
Many Utah Jazz fans expected Rudy Gobert to be overlooked when it came to Defensive Player of the Year voting. But the Jazz big man was just too dominant to be overlooked.
The Stifle Tower averaged 13.5 points per game, but really made a difference on the defensive side (obviously). Gobert pulled in 10.7 rebounds per night and posted 2.3 blocks – which was good for third in the NBA.
And he undeniably anchored the second-best defense in the league, as the Utah Jazz finished with a defensive rating 101.6.
Plus, Gobert became just the second Jazz player to win the award, joining two-time winner Mark Eaton.
So now, it’s time for a new t-shirt, courtesy of BreakingT.
Utah’s Rudy Gobert is the defensive player of the year and has a nickname magnifique.
This officially licensed product of the National Basketball Players Inc., this t-shirt is only available at BreakingT. Made to last, this heather navy shirt features green, white and yellow graphics that truly pop.
I mean, just look at this thing. It’s beautiful. The colors are great, plus you get all kinds of great references. The French at the top, the Stifle Tower nickname, the state of Utah, the Eiffel Tower and the ‘this is the place’ all make an appearance – and they all make this shirt a perfectly unique look for Utah Jazz fans.
