Utah Jazz set to introduce rookie Grayson Allen today
Utah Jazz fans have been eager to see the newest member of the team, Grayson Allen, introduced to the media. Well, today is the day, as Allen will be introduced at 4:00 MT.
The NBA Draft is always an exciting time for all hoops fans. For the Utah Jazz faithful, the Grayson Allen selection seems to have drawn some mixed reviews. Nevertheless, the former Duke Blue Devil is set to be introduced by the team in just a few hours.
I can’t be the only person who instantly gets excited when a player gets drafted, and pictures that draftee in an NBA uniform. Naysayers notwithstanding, I’ve been drooling at the thought of what Jazz draftee Grayson Allen can do for this team in the present and in the future.
At 4:00 PM MT, Jazz fans will get a closer look at Grayson Allen. During his brief NBA career so far, Allen has impressed me with his character. He’s been asked some tough questions after building a reputation as a dirty player throughout his time at Duke, but he’s answered those questions with honesty and maturity.
Allen certainly grew up during his time at Duke, and seems ready to make the jump to the NBA. He will be wearing jersey No. 24, and I expect him to contribute more than the last two guys who have worn that number for the Jazz, Taylor Braun and Jeff Withey.
That’s not a knock on Braun or Withey, I just have some high expectations for Allen. I think Dennis Lindsey picking Allen 21st overall was another brilliant move. I’m really looking forward to seeing what this kid can do moving forward.
It won’t be long until we see Allen playing in Summer League. Utah Jazz Summer League tips off on July 2, and the Jazz will also be playing in Las Vegas Summer League, which begins on July 6th.
