The Utah Jazz will be well-represented in the NBA Awards Show with three finalists. Here’s my predictions on how the evening will go.
The NBA Awards Show that is set to be held tonight (June 25th) at 7:00 PM MT holds extra significance for Utah Jazz fans this time around. That’s because the team has three nominees – Quin Snyder for Coach of the Year, Rudy Gobert for Defensive Player of the Year and Donovan Mitchell for the most heated debate of the season, Rookie of the Year.
While the Jazz tend to be an overlooked and undervalued organization on the national media front, the accomplishments of those three were simply far too incredible to be ignored. Not to mention, the team as a whole caused the entire league to #TakeNote thanks to the fact that they went from nine games below .500 in late January all the way back to the fifth seed in the West and into the second round of the playoffs.
It was hard to miss just how special the Jazz were this year and hopefully the results of the NBA Awards will show as much.
But those three Jazzmen in those trio of categories aren’t the only ones aiming to take home hardware this evening as there are a number of solid players up for Most Valuable Player, Sixth Man of the Year and Most Improved Player. The fact that the Jazz have finalists for three of the six categories is beyond impressive, but I digress.
In preparation for tonight’s show and the doling out of the awards, without further ado, here are my predictions for who will be taking home the hardware for each award.
