#1 – Donte DiVincenzo

Maybe it was the key role he played in Villanova’s NCAA Championship run and the final game itself. Perhaps it was his NBA Combine performance. Or perhaps it’s simply his unrelenting, “prove the doubters wrong” moxie that he seems to display on daily basis, but I love the idea of the Jazz adding Donte DiVincenzo.

He has the tools to be an electrifying scorer for the Jazz and while he has some defensive shortcomings, he has the work ethic and tools to dramatically improve on that end, especially with guidance from Utah’s stellar development program. DiVincenzo is a proven winner whose personality and mindset feel as if they would fit seamlessly with this Jazz team.

He shot over 40 percent from three in his final year at Villanova, proving his effectiveness as a deep-ball threat, but his surprising athleticism that he especially showcased in the combine shows just how versatile he can be. He’s better at getting to the rim than people give him credit for and he has the potential to be an electrifying finisher as well.

Like any draft pick, the Villanova product isn’t without his risks, but his maturity, poise and promising skill set all set him apart as one of my favorite prospects for the Jazz to select at No. 21.

The list of intriguing guys that the Jazz could go with at No. 21 overall could go much longer than just my personal top six guys that I’ve listed here, meaning that the 2018 NBA Draft is going to be an exciting one for Jazz fans. Regardless of whose name they call on June 21, it’s a near certainty that they’ll be adding an intriguing and impactful player to their ranks.
