#2 – Khyri Thomas
It may surprise some people to see him this high on the list, but I really like Khyri Thomas as a Utah Jazz prospect. He was an excellent and efficient shooter at Creighton, going 53.8 percent from the field and 41.1 percent on 4.6 attempts from deep per contest. Thomas is a smart player who gets to his spots and makes the most of his opportunities.
Along with an impressive 3-point shot, Thomas also fits the bill as an excellent defender. While some may argue that Utah’s overall defense could make up for adding a couple players with deficiencies on that end of the floor, I’m pretty certain that Dennis Lindsey and Co. would prefer to keep adding guys that can be dominant on the defensive end. Thomas would certainly fit that bill.
At six-foot-three, he’s a little bit undersized to be as versatile guarding multiple positions as some may want him to be, but he could certainly tag both guard positions while delivering an awesome scoring punch on the offensive end. On top of that, he’s a hard-working, high-energy player that always brings hustle and effort to the table. His intangibles and work ethic alone could very well propel him over some prospects that many would view as more talented.
Between a high basketball IQ, a scrappy style of play and a knack for shooting at a high percentage, Thomas is a well-rounded package that would fit in extremely nicely with this Jazz squad.
