#4 – Mind-blowing comeback against San Antonio – February 12

The Utah Jazz overcame a 13-point fourth quarter deficit to shock the Spurs 101-99 thanks to clutch play from Donovan Mitchell.

The San Antonio Spurs don’t blow double-digit fourth quarter leads, they just don’t. Except this time, they did.

In what was undoubtedly one of the most intense games of the year, the Utah Jazz pulled off a miracle of a win on their home court against the San Antonio Spurs. Utah went on an incredible 20-4 run in the second quarter, but allowed San Antonio to get right back into the game with a dismal third quarter where they were outscored 29-15.

When Bryn Forbes hit a jumper to put San Antonio up by 13 points with just 9:29 remaining, the game appeared to be out of reach. However, Utah wasn’t done.

Mitchell was huge down the stretch and the Jazz were able to fight their way back into the game. There were nine lead changes in the final minutes of the game, but eventually the Jazz found themselves up 101-99. The Spurs had the ball with a chance to tie or take the lead, but Royce O’Neale locked down Kyle Anderson, preventing him from getting a good look at the basket, and Utah came out on top.

Donovan Mitchell leaped in the air with joy and Quin Snyder gave O’Neale the iconic hand on the chest celebration recognizing his stellar defense. The fourth quarter turnaround shocked everyone in the building, fans and players alike, and led to Utah earning their 10th straight win at the time. Make no mistake about it, this was one heck of a special victory.
