Kyle Anderson

Current Team: San Antonio Spurs

Status: Restricted

What I like:

In spite of an odd year for the San Antonio Spurs, Kyle Anderson has been one of the bright spots. Although his three-point shooting is down this year, he’s shooting an incredible 52 percent from the field and simply makes winning plays. His versatility seems to be improving and as he’s entrusted with a larger role, the 24-year-old has only continued to thrive.

His three-point shooting needs to get better, but he has the looks of developing into a solid stretch-four option with a growing offensive repertoire and a high basketball IQ.

What I don’t like:

Aside from his three-point shooting, which I already touched on, there’s not a whole lot to dislike about Kyle Anderson as a promising prospect. However, considering how effective he’s been this year, I have a hard time believing that the Spurs, who control his fate as a restricted free agent, are going to look to part with him.

Beyond that, much like was the case with Trevor Booker, I’m not sure that a backup power forward, which is what Anderson would still likely be, will be high on Utah’s list during free agency.

Final Thoughts:

The Jazz should keep their eyes on Anderson and see what kind of offers he merits, but at the end of the day, I’d be surprised to see him on a different team next year.
