Mario Hezonja

Current Team: Orlando Magic

Status: Unrestricted

What I like:

Mario Hezonja has had a bit of a hard time adjusting to the NBA, but has certainly shown some flashes this year of why he could be great. More than anything, I like Hezonja for his potential as a knock-down shooter and as a good fit for the Jazz from a chemistry standpoint. He’s on a friendly deal right now and due to the fact that he has a ways to go to prove himself, could be had for cheap this summer and I believe Utah could help him reach said potential.

What I don’t like:

The biggest thing that I don’t like is simply that Hezonja hasn’t proved himself yet. He’s shooting just 34 percent from deep this year and hasn’t been as reliable as the Magic have wanted him to be. He’d be a risky pickup with a bit of a clouded future and could turn out to be a bust that doesn’t find his way into the rotation.

Final Thoughts:

If the Jazz have an available roster spot and can get him for a good price, I’m still a believer in Hezonja. Despite inconsistencies throughout the season, he was superb in the month of February, and in the right system, such as that of the Jazz, he could very well thrive.
