Although the Utah Jazz have been playing extremely well of late with their current group, it’s never too early to look ahead to who they could land in this summer’s free agency.

The Utah Jazz are right on the cusp of busting into the playoff mix in the Western Conference. As winners of five straight and 17 of 19 while preparing to face teams with losing records in five of their next six contests, the Jazz have a great chance of finding themselves in the West’s top eight within the next two weeks.

With Rudy Gobert back from injury, Ricky Rubio finally assimilating to his new teammates, Donovan Mitchell continuing to shine and several other players stepping up, the Jazz are looking as formidable now as ever. Considering how well they’ve been clicking, it’s almost hard to imagine making any further roster changes in the near future.

Then again, despite Utah’s nice run in recent contests, I think we all know that there’s still room for the team to improve. And one of the major areas where they’ll be able to do just that will be during this summer’s free agency period.

The Jazz have put together a nice team with two solid core pieces in Mitchell and Gobert, and have built a reputation as a high-class organization with an elite developmental program, excellent front office and brilliant coach. That combination of traits could very well lead Utah to becoming a more highly sought-after free agent destination than in years past.

With that being the case, let’s take a look at some of the most ideal impending free agents the Jazz could pursue and what I like and dislike about each one.
