Kings, Raptors exchange prospects

TO RAPTORS: Malachi Richardson. TO KINGS: Bruno Caboclo.

Padmore: I love this trade for Toronto. This deal went under the radar, but Toronto will add a young, talented former first-round pick in Richardson. Caboclo didn’t work out at all, but Richardson will be a great player to develop.

Thorpe: While many have reported this deal is more about freeing up cap space, I believe Sacramento gave up on Malachi Richardson too early. I think the former Syracuse guard and ACC All-Freshman is going to thrive in a new environment while learning from DeMar DeRozan.

Woodcox: Everyone keeps saying Bruno is two years away from being two years away. We’ll see if the Kings with their renowned track record of getting the most out of their players (I’m laughing my head off inside) can finally get him to blossom.

Aston: Richardson is actually a player that intrigued me as a possibility for the Jazz during the run up to the 2016 NBA Draft. He’s still not shooting the ball like you want him to; maybe he never will. However, I see the Raptors doing their best to work with him and develop his game. Despite some deep pockets, Toronto still needs to operate within the confines of the CBA and a lot of the team’s money is tied up in just a handful of guys. So if they can get players like Richardson who are on their rookie deals to break through, it’s a big help.

Keeffer: Bruno Caboclo is the Brazilian Kevin Durant and when drafted in 2015 they said he is only two years away from being two years away! That means this is his year!! Okay, maybe not.
