Bulls trade Jameer Nelson to Pistons
TO PISTONS: Jameer Nelson and a future second-round pick. TO BULLS: Willie Reed and a future second-round pick.
Woodcox: Jameer Nelson is reunited with Stan Van Gundy and suddenly everything feels a little more right in this world.
Padmore: Stan Van Gundy added his former Orlando Magic point guard, Jameer Nelson. Reggie Jackson is still out with an ankle injury, so Nelson can step in and provide some backup point guard minutes. He can still play, and is a great locker room guy.
Thorpe: Not much to say here. Nelson and Van Gundy are reunited in Detroit and Chicago gets the option to switch second round picks with Detroit in 2022. Nelson will most likely serve as a depth piece for the Pistons and Chicago has released Willie Reed. This is the definition of a “meh” deal.
Keeffer: Jameer Nelson played for the Bulls?! When did that even happen? Oh well. He is still a solid veteran point guard who can really help shore up that position for the Pistons. Reggie Jackson should be back within the next few weeks, but this gives them a solid backup, who can also share minutes besides Jackson.
Aston: Reunited, and it feels so good.
Reunited ’cause we understood.
There’s one perfect fit. And, sugar, this one is it.
We both are so excited ’cause we’re reunited, hey, hey.
