Dante Cunningham deal
TO NETS: Dante Cunningham. TO PELICANS: Rashad Vaughn.
Aston: After he hit nearly 40 percent from distance last year, I thought Dante Cunningham could really solidify himself as a nice frontcourt floor-spacer for small lineups this season. Instead, he regressed to the mean. Still, his defense and experience are probably assets for the Nets locker room.
Thorpe: The Nets were able to parley recently acquired Rashad Vaughn to add much-needed frontcourt depth. So to recap, the Nets were able to trade Tyler Zeller for Dante Cunningham and a second-round pick. Not too shabby.
Keeffer: Not sure why the Nets chose to go after Cunningham, but he is a solid veteran who may actually make them better, which makes that pick owed to the Cavs potentially worse.
Padmore: I liked this deal for Brooklyn. They got a solid, underrated player in Dante Cunningham.
Woodcox: Like I said earlier, I like Vaughn, but I would have preferred to see what he could have done in Brooklyn with those other young guns instead of getting dealt multiple times. Not sure Cunningham really moves the needle much at this point.
