Dunk Contest Champion
Donovan Mitchell put on an absolute show during the Dunk Contest, doing everything from throwing the ball off a second backboard to slam it home, to jumping over Kevin Hart and his sister while rocking a Darrell Griffith throwback jersey, to paying homage to Vince Carter.
The final round came down to him and the Cleveland Cavaliers’ Larry Nance Jr. in a bout that did not disappoint. Nance had an awesome dunk that featured a double tap off the backboard, but ultimately Mitchell squeaked by with a two-point victory.
If you want to catch up on all of Mitchell’s sick jams, be sure to check them all out via the link in the tweet below from my J-Notes partner in crime Ryan Aston.
Personally, I think his first one was my favorite and I would have liked to see Mitchell and Nance go at one another for a few more rounds. But at the end of the day, the most explosive dunker of the two won out and Mitchell came out on top after the standard four dunks. His interview after winning the contest was just a further testament of how awesome this kid is:

And he went on to let Jazz fans know, that he brought that trophy home!
