Prediction – Spurs 104, Jazz 100

I’m really looking forward to this game. As the Jazz proved earlier in the season and based on how they’ve played of late, they’re more than capable of taking care of business and toppling the Spurs. This contest will be a great testing grounds to see if Utah’s recent play is really sustainable or just a minor surge.

However, since this is the second night of a back-to-back in one of the toughest arenas in the NBA and due to the fact that the Jazz suffered such a delay getting into San Antonio last night, I’m worried that a more fresh Spurs team that is wrapping up a five-game home stand tonight will have the edge in energy and be able to take advantage of a fatigued Jazz squad down the stretch to earn a narrow victory.

Nevertheless, despite the tough conditions the Jazz are playing in, this Spurs team is certainly more vulnerable than those of past years and if Utah’s recent play is indicative of what they’re truly becoming to close out the season, then this game will be entirely winnable. Even if the Jazz do end up coming short, though, the good news is that they’re already guaranteed to post a winning record for the week and their slate leading up to the All-Star break gets much easier than what they’ve faced of late.

The Jazz and Spurs tip-off tonight at 7:00 PM MT at the AT&T Center.
