Utah Jazz report card: Who are Utah’s top performers at the 50-game mark?
By Tyler Thorpe
Team GPA: 2.90 (B)
Overall GPA: 2.88 (B)
Analysis
My initial thought after compiling these grades was that a “B” seems too high for a team that currently sits at 22-28. Regardless, the way Utah has performed over their last six games warrants an even higher mark.
Inconsistency has plagued the Jazz all year-long. So why should we expect anything but more inconsistency to continue over the final 32 regular season games?
Here are a few of my thoughts as to why Utah is deserving of their “B” grade:
- Rudy Gobert is
backdominating. - Donovan Mitchell has cemented himself as the team’s primary scoring option.
- Ricky Rubio seems comfortable again.
- Royce O’Neale’s ascent.
- Quin Snyder.
- THEY BEAT THE GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS BY 30 POINTS.
That last point alone might be enough to remove any argument that this Jazz team is heading in the right direction.
