Justise Winslow, Miami Heat

The Miami Heat’s James Johnson is a player the Jazz like a lot. However, he seems pretty entrenched as the team’s small-ball four and one of their floor leaders. The Jazz aren’t getting Goran Dragic either, so what’s left?

Can I get Justise Winslow for $500 (or an expiring contract), Alex?

Winslow hasn’t quite lived up to the hype he had coming out of Duke. A torn labrum last season, knee issues now and the emergence of Josh Richarson probably deserve more credit for that than his shortcomings do. In any event, Winslow probably holds more value for the Miami Heat as a trade chip than as a part of their future.

There may or may not be potential for a deal here, but as an upside guy who’s starting to hit the three and a big, physical defender on the wing, Winslow is a player to watch.
