B. . C. Utah Jazz. RUDY GOBERT

Overall GPA: 3.00 (B)

Another set of grades and another stretch of Gobert-less basketball for the Jazz.

It seems like an eternity ago when fans and pundits alike were questioning Rudy’s impact and claim to be one of the league’s elite big men.

I may have prematurely given into a small portion of those feelings and wrongly dropped Rudy from a solid B to a B-minus. Rudy’s absence has undoubtedly hindered Utah’s chances to compete for a playoff spot this season.

Despite the short-term pain that Gobert’s recent injuries have caused Utah fans, Jazz Nation can sleep soundly dreaming about the potential of a lineup that combines two potential future All-Stars in Gobert and Donovan Mitchell.

Utah’s recent struggles have helped me re-realize just how vital Rudy is to Utah’s future. If the Jazz can manage to simply stay afloat while Rudy recovers and eventually re-adjusts to Utah’s rotation, the Jazz may still have a shot at a playoff spot.
