Rookie sensation Donovan Mitchell will look to repeat the success he had against Bradley Beal back in December, as the Utah Jazz take on the Wizards tonight in Washington.

The Washington Wizards will be looking for redemption after suffering an embarrassing 47 point loss against the Jazz in Utah on December 4th. It was the franchise’s second-worst loss in history, with the worst being a 52 point loss in 1971.

Rudy Gobert made his return from a knee injury against Washington last time out, but he will not play in tonight’s matchup. Derrick Favors going up against Marcin Gortat will be a fun battle, but the matchup to watch will be Donovan Mitchell and Bradley Beal.

Beal had a dud of a game when these teams played in December. Donovan Mitchell did a good job defensively, holding Beal to just 11 points on 4-of-15 shooting. He averages over 23 points per game on the season, and is so deadly offensively. He can kill you with his three-point shot when coming off a screen.

Mitchell dropped 21 points against the Wizards last time out on an efficient 8-of-13 shooting. It was a statement victory, and the Jazz will hope to sweep the season series tonight.

Beal and the Wizards come into tonight’s game hot. They have won six of their eight games, and are looking better after a disappointing start to the season. They also have John Wall back. Wall did not play against the Jazz earlier this season due to a knee injury.

The Jazz are the opposite of hot. Utah is very, very cold right now. They have won just three of their last sixteen games, and are coming off a tough loss in Miami. The Jazz need to be better on both sides of the ball, and play with a consistent effort for 48 minutes.

Utah will look to get back in the winning column tonight in Washington. Tip-off is at 5:00 MT.
