The Utah Jazz will look to put together their first consecutive game winning streak since early December as they host the New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday night.

The Utah Jazz had a tough month of December that saw them go just 5-10 against an array of formidable opponents. However, they ended the month on a high note by defeating the Cleveland Cavaliers and will look to build off of that momentum heading into January as they’ll take on the New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday night in the first bout of the new year.

The last time Utah and New Orleans squared off, it turned out to be one of the most entertaining games of the year. Not only was it Star Wars Night, but Utah overcame a 16-point deficit thanks to an exhilarating offensive explosion from rookie Donovan Mitchell, who posted a career-high 41 points.

If the Jazz can turn in half as exciting of a performance on Wednesday night and once again come away with a victory, it will be an overwhelming success.

Nevertheless, the 18-18 Pelicans find themselves ahead of Utah in the standings and in eighth place in the West for a reason as they’ve been solid overall this season. Therefore, the Jazz will have their work cut out for them and will have to especially focus on succeeding in the following key areas if they are to win consecutive games for the first time since early December and come away with a second victory over New Orleans.
