If the Utah Jazz hope to accomplish everything they want to this season and beyond, there are some boxes they’ll have to check in the new year.

2017 has to be the best-worst year the Utah Jazz have had in some time. To say the least, it’s been a year of extremes.

On the bright side, Gordon Hayward became Utah’s first All-Star since Deron Williams, Rudy Gobert was an All-NBA selection, the team ended a years-long postseason drought and, finally, managed to steal a future superstar in Donovan Mitchell at No. 13 in the 2017 NBA Draft.

On the other hand, Hayward and point guard George Hill flew the coop, the Jazz currently have a losing record and injuries continue to stymie the squad. Dante Exum is probably out for the year, Gobert is on the shelf and Joe Johnson is scuffling.

That said, the future remains bright in Jazzland. Despite a recent downturn, good things can happen in the year ahead. The current season is far from lost.

So, as the Jazz usher in 2018, here are seven resolutions that can turn the tide for the team and make it a happy new year.
