3) Minnesota Timberwolves
Slowly, but surely, the Minnesota Timberwolves are beginning to play to their potential. As a result, they put together an impressive five-game win streak before finally succumbing to an epic, fourth-quarter comeback in Milwaukee on Thursday.
Jimmy Butler has been otherworldly at times during December. He’s scored 30 or more points in six games this month, highlighted by 39, 38 and 37-point efforts against the Nuggets, Philadelphia 76ers and Trail Blazers, respectively.
On the down side, Jeff Teague is out for at least the next two to four weeks with a sprained left knee. Imaging didn’t reveal any structural damage, but he’s on the shelf for now. Sound familiar, Jazz fans?
