PG. Utah Jazz. RICKY RUBIO. C+.

Overall GPA:  2.43 (C-plus)

Ricky Rubio quickly became the scapegoat for Jazz fans during Utah’s four-game losing streak. While his numbers have not been lights out, Rubio has seemed to settle back into a contributing role on this team. His role, however, is nowhere near the bar he set for himself to open the season.

Rubio played his best game of the month Friday night in Utah’s win over the Boston Celtics. He finished the night with 22 points on 10-of-22 shooting to go along with seven rebounds and five assists.

Over Utah’s last ten outings Rubio has averaged over 10 points, four rebounds and four assists per night. The pass-first point guard, however, has recorded three-plus turnovers in six of Utah’s last ten games.

Rubio’s chemistry with Derrick Favors appears to be lightyears ahead of that with Gobert. With Gobert sidelined again, look for Rubio to continue his aggressive and effective play.

Similar to Gobert’s situation, Rubio needs more time before Jazz fans lose all faith in him.
