Keep launching those 3s

The Jazz are one of the most efficient shot taking teams in the league this season. When you take a look at their shot chat after a game, you will see a large amount of shots at the rim and 3-point line, with very little happening in the mid-range.

The casual fan doesn’t look at the Jazz as a 3-point shooting team. Perhaps because they don’t have a Steph Curry, Kyle Korver or J.J. Reddick-type player. On the season, though, they are attempting 30 threes a game, which is the tenth most attempts per game. Over the last two weeks, that number has come up to 32 attempts per game, which is fifth in the NBA.

And while they may not have anyone largely known as an elite 3-point shooter, over the last two weeks they have shot an NBA leading 43.8 percent from the three. This team is filled with more than capable shooters, and they should continue launching threes at a high rate.

In Utah’s first match-up versus the Bucks, they recorded a franchise-record 18 3-pointers. Jason Kidd-coached teams have never done an effective job at preventing the corner three, and the Utah Jazz are a team who excel at getting that shot. I don’t know if they can match their 18 makesfrom a few weeks ago, but if they can take 30-plus and make 12 or more, they’ll be in an excellent position to win on the road.
